Family Discipleship milestones

  • A green and white slide titled 'Family Dedication'. It features the number 1 in large font, with the subtitle 'Family Discipleship Milestones' and a logo at the bottom left corner. The slide is part of a series from Storyline Church, labeled 'Milestone 1'.

    Family Dedication

At Storyline Church our prayer is that families would be following Jesus, in a family, on mission and Family Dedication is the first of five milestones designed to help you do this as you live in God's story.

Family Dedication begins with dinner. At this dinner, we will share how Storyline Church partners with parents and talk about simple rhythms that help families live in God’s story by reading God’s story together. The whole family is invited, and childcare is available with registration.

Family Dedication will take place during services on Sunday. When you register, you will select your service preference. Register today and take this meaningful step in the discipleship of your family.

  • Slide titled 'Baptism' with the number 3 and the text 'Family Discipleship Milestones' at the bottom, from Storyline Church's Milestone 3 presentation.

    Baptism

As our kids grow into elementary and middle school years, their world begins to expand quickly. Friends, sports, and activities begin to shape what matters most to them. In a season like this, there is no better time to lean into conversations about the gospel and baptism.

Our Family Discipleship Baptism Class is designed to equip parents to lead these conversations with wisdom and confidence. Together, we will talk about how to help your kids follow Jesus, in a family, on mission and how simple rhythms like learning to live in God’s story by reading God’s story can shape their faith for years to come.

Register today and take a step toward discipling your child in this important season.

  • Slide titled 'Middle School Blessing' with the number 4, indicating milestone 4 for family discipleship, presented by Storyline Church.

    Middle School Blessing

As your child prepares to enter 6th grade, we gather to celebrate God’s faithfulness during their elementary years and call them into deeper discipleship as they begin their journey in Storyline Students.

During the evening, parents will read a short letter of blessing over their student, speaking words of love, encouragement, and prayer. Each student will also receive a Bible as a reminder that God has given us his Word so we can live in God’s story by reading God’s story.

Register today to celebrate your incoming 6th grader and this important step of following Jesus, in a family, on mission.

  • Slide titled 'Mission Trip 6' with subtitle 'Family Discipleship Milestones' and 'Storyline Church | Milestone 2' at the bottom, featuring blue and gray tones with a pattern of triangles in the background.

    Mission Trip

Mission trips are an opportunity for students to take the gospel to their neighbors and the nations. We believe every student is sent, and these trips equip and train students to share the gospel and grow deeper in their faith.

  • Large green graphic that highlights "senior commissioning" as one of the family discipleship milestones.

    Senior Commissioning

Senior Commissioning is the final Family Discipleship Milestone. As our seniors prepare to step into a new season of life, we gather to thank God for his faithfulness and to send them out to continue following Jesus, in a family, on mission.

Senior Commissioning begins with dinner. This evening will be a time to honor each senior, celebrate the work God has done in their lives, and speak words of blessing as they prepare for what comes next.

Seniors will then be commissioned during services on Sunday as our church family prays for them and sends them out to live in God's Story, on mission for King Jesus.

Register today and join us as we celebrate and commission our graduating seniors.

Frequently asked questions

  • We aim to disciple students to live in God’s story and find the good life that is found in Jesus. Throughout their time in Storyline Students, teenagers will hear the Gospel proclaimed at every gathering, having Scripture be their guide to know God and love all people.

Throughout our three year scope, the Christian story will be unpacked through 8 Threads of the Christian Story, 7 Major Christian Beliefs, and 6 Christian Formations in order to know Jesus and love all people.

  • Once students are in 6th grade, they are able to (and encouraged) to serve!

For more information on serving at Storyline Church, head over to our serve page.

  • When your kids are at Storyline, we desire to provide a safe environment for them to learn about Jesus. We have security measures, onboarding processes, and training for all the leaders who serve in our ministry.

  • During the summer, we take a break from our regularly planned student programming. In June, we focus on serving. Students have the opportunity to join mission trips (local, continental, and international) as well as serve at our annual Kids Camp. In July we focus on community by hosting weekly Bible study opportunities as well as weekly summer activities!

  • We are always looking for adults to serve in student ministry! Teenagers face so much today and need adults in their lives to help them navigate the good and the bad. If you’re interested in serving and discipling our students, head over to our serve page.

  • We love the opportunity to talk with students and their parents about baptism! If you are a follower of Jesus and want to take this next step of obedience, fill out this form and we will schedule a conversation with you.
